Minutes of the Meeting - Clark Pines Civic Association

January 8, 2011 / Held at 2012C W. 14th


Call to Order:       By Matt Bloebaum, President, at 6:09 pm; self introductions


 Attending:          Rochella Cooper, Vicki Bailey, Mary Saegert, Denise Goehring, Gary and Patia Antene, Tony Rorai, Heidi Roeder, Sylvia McCormack, Matt Bloebaum, Tori Willilams,                    Maria Moraczewski, Dan Schwieterman, Mary Abshier and Art Warman


Minutes:               Minutes of previous meeting were approved as published.


Treasurer’s Report:       Denise Goehring:  Beginning balance about $5814; distributions in             checks etc. app. $103, leaving balance of app. $5705


Reports & Old Business:       Greater Heights Super Neighborhood Advisor Mary Abshier gave report; GHSN now has a website


Traffic Safety Committee:       No committee report;  Evelyn Shanley reported on I-10 area efforts by city at flood mitigation; Rochella Cooper asked about requesting another dead end sign from the city for 14 ½.  Discussion of traffic/right of way for newer construction coming off end of 14th at TC Jester


Beautification Committee:       Trees going into cut through to Wynwood courtesy of Trees for Houston; planting at esplanade at entrance to Clark Pines took place on Nov. 6; trees look good


Bylaws Committee:       No updates


New Business:       CPCA website can be obtained for app. $120/year, with our own domain name, private, no advertisements.

Rochella Cooper discussed a minimum lot size proposal for part of 14 ½ which has been submitted to the City of Houston for approval.

There was a break in recently at a house which backs up to the  utility easement behind 14th.

Matt Bloebaum solicited volunteers for a communications/hospitality committee;  Rudy Martinez and Mary Abshier offered themselves.  Matt also is looking for a volunteer to work on a neighborhood history/scrapbook, perhaps electronic.

Proposed budget presented by Matt and approved.




Addendum:  After adjournment Tony Rorai offered to be a part of the Greater Heights Super Neighborhood Transportation Committee.
